Attention: v1.18.1 patch releasing soon!


Hi everyone! I'm excited to announce that a new fair-sized update for C.U.B.E. is currently out for external testing and will be releasing soon! Hopefully before/during the Labour Day weekend, but it will be whenever external testing is done. I also wanted to post here to keep everyone up-to-date with some things I've been working on, what I'm planning for the next few days, and my upcoming change of schedule.

  • So I know that everyone is sick and tired of hearing me ramble on and on about what I refer to as "the CUBE-clipping bug" in the third room. I myself am also tired of rambling on and on about this bug because it's been a pain to me for so long. I've tried, in the past, THREE TIMES(including the beta) to patch this bug for good. However, my patches have always fallen short in one way or another. Until now. I swear.  This is my fourth(and I'm PRAYING for it to be the final) crack at it. I found out a way to combine the functions of my last two CUBE-clipping-bug-patching-scripts into one, more efficient script. Having consulted my Discord community members, I also ensured that a key part of the gameplay(especially for speedrunning) in the third room was not sacrificed. It's still out for external testing right now, but I've tested it myself a few times and I've had it work in a pretty much foolproof fashion. I'm really excited to release this patch and I'm going to be so happy if I never have to talk about trying to squash this particular bug ever again in my life.
  • In addition to that, I've actually built a separate, specialized testing environment for C.U.B.E. that will help me resolve these issues faster without potentially breaking the game I've already built. I'm a rookie, so these things can, will, and have happened to me. But this should speed things up. As of right now, I'm focusing on addressing common complaints and adding small but helpful new features that will only improve the accessibility of the game.
  • As some of you might be aware, I am a student going into my first year of university in Game Design and Development. This is a really exciting and nerve-wracking change for me, and I will be busy for most of next week(starting Sept 3), moving into my campus and getting to know my fellow students(also probably advertising C.U.B.E. via word of mouth and sharing the link lol). So I will probably not be heard from for a little bit on itch.io until I've settled into my residence and gotten the hang of my classes and new life schedule. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me thus far, and I swear on my heart and soul that I will not abandon While C.U.B.E. Is True, this passion project I've poured days of sweat and hard work into. My goal is to use what I learn in university to apply to this project and make it better than I could've done on my own.
